The Skyclad Fashionista

Hey guys! So, if you didn't know already, I may or may not have a huge small addiction to mesh heads. I can't help it, they're so pretty. The newest craze on the market is the Genus Project heads, and I tried SO hard to not pick it up....but the baby face variant was just too cute... It's my duty as a blogger to have it....right?? At a cool $L5.5K, the price is nothing to shake a stick at, but it comes with pretty much everything you need, so it runs about half of the price of Catwa (when buying a new catwa head and the animation HUD). You do need to purchase an omega relay, which seems really silly to me for the price of the head itself, but at $L99, it's not too bad. All layers on the Genus head are omega-compatible, so all of your favourite omega skins and makeups should work, but with any omega heads, may not fit the shape perfectly. I grabbed the Saturday Sale (out early!) hair from Astrology (and checked out their moving sale!!!), the bodysuit lingerie from Tentacio, and just went to town playing with my new face.

 I grabbed 6 omega-friendly skins that I thought looked lovely on the head, I tried to be varied, but I do tend to go for skins that have a pretty similar "look" to them, and tend to stick to pale tones in general.

 I feel like I should probably write more but I'm currently quite sick, and this was fun but exhausting. Excuse me while I take a nap <3

Hey guys, it's Valentines Day, so I thought I would put together a look that falls into that theme this year! I make an adorable cherub, don't you think? Starting from the top, the hair I'm using is from Truth, and is the newest group gift! My dress is a new release from Caverna Obscura, and it includes sizes for Maitreya, physique, hourglass, altamura, all 3 belleza bodies, and TMP, but always try a demo! My golden bow (of love!) is a new release from Deadly Nightshade, and is currently out at the The Secret Affair! The bow not only includes a mini bento holding AO, (includes hold, walk, crouch, run, and aim animations) but it's functional as well! There's 3 types of bolts: single shot, triple shot, and death volley; which targets another avatar on sim and rains arrows down on them. How cool, right? On non-damage/non-push sims, the bolts are purely cosmetic. The shoes I'm wearing are actually the newest group gift from Reign! My wings are actually bento wings from lassitude & ennui . Due to internet circumstances, I can only take a gif, not a full video to show off the wings and bow right this moment, so you'll have to trust me that both items are gorgeous.




 

November marks the final round of the quarterly kinky subscription box "The Bound Box". While the ending is unfortunate, they're definitely going out with a bang. Even though pre-order is over, you can get a copy of the box [HERE]! I've picked out a few of my favourite items to show off, but there's plenty more to see!

Hey guys! I noticed that Izzie's has chosen to include BakeOn mesh layers with her new Summer blush set, which is incredibly exciting to me because I feel like BakeOn mesh is absolutely incredible and will totally change our Second Lives. BakeOn mesh, in a nutshell, allows us to use our system layers...on our mesh parts. No, I did not make a typo. You read that correctly. In my photos, I am wearing all system layer items on my Maitreya body, and my LAQ mesh head. BakeOn also allows up to 64 layers of stuff to be worn at the same time...with no/minimal issues. Like tattoos? wear 30 of them! (or don't, because that would look silly). I rushed over to the official SL viewer wiki page to snag a download and check it out (and by rushed, I mean it took all day because my internet was down), I also got the FREE bake on mesh kit from the Omega inworld shop, and then I settled down in a spot on my home sim (since the project is still in beta, you look like a hot mess to anyone else on the grid right now!) and tried on my old system skins and makeup, and just for fun, I pulled out some gorgeous system layer lingerie too!

I chose several of my system skins that fit best on my LAQ Bree head, but honestly, it was tough to narrow it down, because so many I had fit absolutely beautifully. When I was taking photos, I thought I had chosen some variety in my tones...guess I was kinda wrong!

 Makeup layers absolutely perfectly. I didn't get any flickering, or conflicting layers, nothing knocked out another layer, etc! One thing to remember is that you do have to LAYER things, in the order you want them. for example: wear blush, then shadow so the shadow sits on top of the blush layer. Same thing with clothing and tattoos. Wear your tattoos and then the clothing!

Hey guys! So, If you haven't heard yet, SL is implementing a new system called PROJECT BENTO, which adds bones for fingers, facial movements/sliders, tails, and wings. The default SL viewer with bento support has been out for a while, but the firestorm BETA viewer with the capabilities was just released recently. (For more info, and download links, please join the Phoenix-Firestorm Preview group!). I'm a die-hard firestormer, so I've been holding off on bento-ing myself until the release of the beta viewer, but now that it's here, I grabbed the bento-enabled Kioko head from Akeruka (which is on SALE right now guys, along with all of their bento heads!! Get them while the sale is on), and the Bento-enabled hands from Vista Animations, and have been playing around with them pretty much non-stop!

Extended fingers and a smile! The Vista prohands come with a regular version, a bento version, 4 tester animations that are fun to play with (You can see Strawberry Singh test out all of them in her youtube video [HERE]). It also includes a HUD with tons of skin presets, 4 nail lengths, a skin-tinting thingie, 18 nail polishes, glove and tattoo layer toggles, and a dozen hand poses! Each nail can be polished individually, and your hands can move independently. I'm actually using the poses designed for bento use from Sari-Sari, there's 6 in the pack and they're super cute

Wiggly Fingers~! One thing to note is that these hands ARE still in beta, and one negative that i noticed is that the nails sink into the fingers a little bit in some poses. However, the creator has been really receptive to customer feedback, and all updates are included and FREE. Definitely try the demo to see if these are right for you. These DO fit mesh bodies!

P.S. Today is my 5th anniversary with my RL/SL partner! It's also the first day of his OTR trucking training, so it's definitely the worst anniversary...

So, if you've powered through my last post, you know that today I'm celebrating life! This post is dedicated to a few of my favourite things here in the digital world!

Firstly, I can never decide on a favourite skin maker, so I'll definitely be wearing different ones throughout the week. My top 3 (in no specific order) are: Lumae, Glam affair, and Pink fuel. I'm wearing Pink fuel's Doll v2 skin today on my Logo mesh head.

For eyes it's always a flat out tie between Ikon, and S0ng, but I'm wearing Ikon eyes right now. When it comes to jewelry, I don't wear a ton, and my collection is all over the place, with a few pieces from tons of stores, but as far as piercings go, Hebenon Vial is definitely my fave, although I'm not wearing any right now, but you'll see plenty of their piercings later in the week!

Hair? Doe (formerly ploom). Hands down. Every time. I have never found a hair store that I love more, or that fits my personal style better, than Doe. Their hairs are definitely some of the best on the grid, and the colour choices are amazing!


My top 3 favourite clothing stores (again in no specific order) are definitely: Sn@tch, Blueberry, and Adams, with a special shout-out to DV8, which will always hold a special place in my heart.


And last but definitely not least, my favourite shoe store is Reign! I only discovered Reign fairly recently, but since then I've purchased so darn many shoes from there that my inventory has skyrocketed! They do platforms, boots, flats, heels, pumps, sneakers, you name it, and with sizes for belleza, maitreya, slink, sometimes unrigged, and sometimes even for the TD body you really can't go wrong!


Finally, I saw someone recently do this on their blog, just a simple full-body shot on a simple background, with a list of store names along one edge. I thought it was a fantastic idea, so I snagged it!

So, one of my favourite days of the year has finally come... it's my REZDAY! Today marks the day 6 years ago when Skyler Glasswing came into being. I am filling this day with fun and friends, and treating myself to anything I want! Lucky for me that today is also Wednesday, which means brand new stuff at Sn@tch to treat myself to!

I mentioned to my partner how excited I was that Pink Fuel updated their Doll V2 skins to include logo/omega/belleza appliers, and mentioned that I planned to get it for myself for my rezday... and he went out of his way and bought it for me! He's wonderful :3

The Pink Fuel Doll V2 skin that I received is the "Crystal tone" version (not the vamp version) comes with so many options it would probably take me the rest of the day to list them including; body appliers, head appliers, makeup, and a feet/shoe pack from just designs (not shown)

Next, Sn@tch seemed to just KNOW that it was my rezday, and put out 3 of my favourite products (that I somehow didn't own already) on the RIOT VENDORS! I managed to snag three new gorgeous items for about $L150!

I am sooooooo excited because recently Alaskametro updated her makeups to include OMEGA appliers! The packs now include system layers as well as appliers for: Loud Mouth, TMP, Omega, Lelutka, and the Slink Visage heads! Her makeups have always been a great deal, but the deal just keeps getting sweeter!

If you're new to the world of makeup, Alaskametro has absolutely gorgeous products for unbearably amazing prices. These look fabulous on the default SL heads, but since I just got the LOGO Alex head, which is Omega-compatible, I thought I'd scootch up to my cute vanity from Kei-spot and show these little pieces of art off on my new face! There are so many fantastic sets to choose from, and I couldn't pick just one... SO, here's ALL of the lippies!


 On an unrelated note, my partner decided to spoil me with the newest lingerie from Dirty Princess! The Ritzy princess lingerie comes with a ton of layers, options, and omega appliers to boot! It DOES show your nipples, so if you're not comfortable with that, grab some pasties like I did! If you're up for a little luck-of-the-draw, then you should check out Doe's hair gacha at Epiphany! I am wearing one of the ginger shades from the RARE Essentials pack.


First up, Alaskametro's Angel lipsticks. These come in 6 luscious matte ombre comours that fade from dark at the edges to bright in the center. Colours in the pack are: Black Cherry, Cyber, Dark Chocolate, Deep Forest, Plum, and Twilight.


If you're looking for some great neutrals to "go with everything" then you'll want to pick up the Creme Brown set! Colours in the pack are: Brunette, Burnt, Cafe Au Lait, cashew, chestnut, and nude


You can never go wrong with a great red lip! The Creme Reds set has a perfect red lippie for everyone! Colours in the pack are: Coral, Fiery, Joan, Harlot, Melot, and Wild


If you like the creme sets but want something a little glossier, then the Evelyn palette is for you! This palette features sophisticated but fun lippies in a wide variety of tones. Colours in the pack are: Carmine, Coco, Fatale, Girly, Petal, and Rebel.


Heading back to the matte side of the spectrum, we have the Heat lippie palette! These are bright colours but not TOO bright, perfect for adding a pop of colour to an outfit. These are definitely reminiscent of the Baby Lips lip balms IRL. Colours in the pack are: Cerise, Coral, Flamingo, Lemonade, Pool, and Tango.


Our final matte set of the day is the Matte Dark palette. This features some deeper lippies in staple tones with a creamy matte look. Colours in the pack are: Autumn, Classic Red, Gothic, Swoon, Vamp, and Venom


If you're more into shiny lips, like me, then you'll love the Liquid Shine lipsticks. These are partially transparent, but pack a super shine punch! Colours in the pack are:Claret, Fuchsia, Mocha, Orchid, Rose, and Violet


Alaskametro's lip stains are all fairly neutral without adding too much gloss or shine. Colours in the pack are: Acorn, Berry, Cerise, classic, cranberry, and Rose.


Finally,the sheer glosses are semi-transparent to let your beautiful lips show through partially! There are 6 sheer neutral shades to compliment almost every skin tone and provide a subtle hint of colour and gloss. Colours in the pack are: Blush, Golden, Mauve, Nude, Pale, Rouge

{p.s... "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN??" I know, right? Things have been hectic here in the Glasswing house. In the last month or two my mom and her husband separated and are getting divorced, so my mom stayed with us for a while, we've had quite a few family deaths, I've been taking care of my grandparents more than ever, and my partner and I are planning a road trip that will more than likely lead to a non-local move soon, occupation changes, and other generally possibly huge things... so that's where I've been! Starting off is Bliensen + MaiTai with 2 fabulous pair of shoes - stilettos and flats! These are fitted for a wide range of feet. Included in the packs are rigged versions for TMP and Slink HIGH feet, and unrigged pairs sized for Maitreya, belleza, CMFF, and more!

Next, continuing in the vein of shoes made for the Slink HIGH feet, we have a new-to-me deisgner, David Heather with 2 colours of their scorpion-endowed Homard heels!

MV's Satrina heels are next on my absolutely-must-have list for this event. These sexy peep-toe lace-up-the-leg style heels come in 2 dark and exclusive colours;Blush, and Mocha

Finally you'll definitely want to visit Sax Shepherd Designs on the 21st. SSD's offering for this special event is a pair of absolutely stunning stiletto heels in 2 colours.These heels include a multi-face texture change HUD to switch the colours and jewels.  and after tomorrow they will go up to normal price. The texture HUD allows for so much customization that these shoes will go with oodles of outfits!

Hey guys! So, I originally intended to get this post done last weekend... but then I FINALLY got my Slink shoe developer's kit, and I've been playing with it and working on shoes since then...I'm such a slacker blogger sometimes...
But ANYWAY, back to the fashion...

Finally, I had a ton of fun layering makeups to get exactly the look I wanted. I'm using lippie and one shadow from Pink Fuel, another shadow and liner from M.O.C.K Cosmetics, and I've added Haus of Darcy's Decay piercing on top, which includes that fantastic lip stripe tattoo!

And the inspiration for this post was, of course, this song. Am I a fadrehead addict? Of course not, addicts go to meetings ;)

Who doesn't love things when they're cute, pink and free? Right now, pink fuel has this adorable glossy lippie in their group notices, AND the group is free to join!
