Lumae has a brand new group gift skin out right now! The group is currently $L1 to join (to try and keep out the spam bots), but you get so much in the package that it's more than worth it. The gorgeous blue makeup reminds me of the ocean, and matches my bikini beautifully! I normally prefer pale skins, but Lumae's tan skins are absolutely fantastic and lack the "spray tan" orange tone that a lot of tan skins on the market have

I put together this sexy look with pieces found in this week's round of FLF!

I grabbed deals from: Dead Dollz, Wasabi Pills, and Maxi Gossamer this week and put together a look that really turns heads!

This lace overlay dress is the FLF offering from Dead Dollz. It comes in a gorgeous shade of deep and muted purple, is maitreya-only, and includes both the dress you see above, and one that is a little bit less modest (and also includes a pair of panties for... just a touch of mystery?)

Check out this necklace from Maxi Gossamer for FLF! The necklace itself comes in 3 versions (one long two short) and can be switched to either gold or silver, and the beads can be changed to any of the 8 different bead colours. The hair I have on above is another FLF find, this time from Wasabi Pills! The Mackenzie hair comes in one exclusive colour pack for today only, and includes a regular and BOOBS version, for ladies with bountiful bosoms!

My kickass vintage-inspired nails are from Dark Passions, and are currently available at the Vintage Fair, which just opened today!  I adore all things sparrows, so the sparrow tattoo design is right up my alley!

I'm wearing the ones that I've made a red box around above. Appliers are available for Slink, Maitreya, and Omega and can either be purchased separately for $L100, or you can grab the fatpack for $L275!

My soft and beautiful skin is the bare version of Lumae's Eirtae line. I cannot say enough good things about this skin, and it's perfect to add makeup to! I've embellished it slightly with one of the Juliet shadow/liner combos from Nova, but left the rest alone

 

So, if you've powered through my last post, you know that today I'm celebrating life! This post is dedicated to a few of my favourite things here in the digital world!

Firstly, I can never decide on a favourite skin maker, so I'll definitely be wearing different ones throughout the week. My top 3 (in no specific order) are: Lumae, Glam affair, and Pink fuel. I'm wearing Pink fuel's Doll v2 skin today on my Logo mesh head.

For eyes it's always a flat out tie between Ikon, and S0ng, but I'm wearing Ikon eyes right now. When it comes to jewelry, I don't wear a ton, and my collection is all over the place, with a few pieces from tons of stores, but as far as piercings go, Hebenon Vial is definitely my fave, although I'm not wearing any right now, but you'll see plenty of their piercings later in the week!

Hair? Doe (formerly ploom). Hands down. Every time. I have never found a hair store that I love more, or that fits my personal style better, than Doe. Their hairs are definitely some of the best on the grid, and the colour choices are amazing!


My top 3 favourite clothing stores (again in no specific order) are definitely: Sn@tch, Blueberry, and Adams, with a special shout-out to DV8, which will always hold a special place in my heart.


And last but definitely not least, my favourite shoe store is Reign! I only discovered Reign fairly recently, but since then I've purchased so darn many shoes from there that my inventory has skyrocketed! They do platforms, boots, flats, heels, pumps, sneakers, you name it, and with sizes for belleza, maitreya, slink, sometimes unrigged, and sometimes even for the TD body you really can't go wrong!


Finally, I saw someone recently do this on their blog, just a simple full-body shot on a simple background, with a list of store names along one edge. I thought it was a fantastic idea, so I snagged it!

So, browsing my facebook feed this morning, facebook did it's daily "hey! here are your memories from today!" thing. Scrolling through the usual silly photos and status updates and I see a post from 3 years ago today about an "itchy rash" all over my body, new medication, and lots of advice from family on how to feel better.... and then it hit me... 3 years ago today... I almost died. 

I went to the doctor with a skin rash that I had never seen anything like before, she diagnosed it as simple allergic reaction hives, gave me a few medications, told me it was okay to scratch, but be careful if my skin gets dry, and use lotion, and sent me home. I take my newly prescribed meds, and a few hours later, I'm feeling worse than ever... my BF comes home from work looking and feeling almost as bad as me... I told him about the doctor's diagnoses, and he goes ahead and takes the same medicine... several hours later we're both incredibly sick, have very high fevers, and are feeling completely awful. Neither of us have insurance (we live in the USA), but he decides it's time to go to the ER anyway. 

They take one look at us and take him back immediately. I sit and wait and am told that they can't tell me anything because I'm "just his girlfriend, not his wife", which sets the precedent for the next awful week that he would have to spend in a special quarantine room with special air, and lots of tests and doctors... The longest week of our lives... I came every single day as soon as visiting hours started (sometimes a little before) and stayed until they told me I absolutely had to leave. Each day I had to go home without him felt wrong... I didn't eat or sleep. I stopped taking the medication that I had been given immediately because, obviously, this was not a simple case of allergies...

Most of the doctors and nurses were extremely rude to me, and kept switching the chair in the room to a smaller and less comfortable one each day (I guess it must have been some kind of joke between them or something?), and repeated that horrible phrase over and over when I asked any questions at all... what was wrong with him, or asked about tests, or really anything... "we can't tell you anything, you're just his girlfriend, not his wife"... I kept up my sweet and kind face hoping it would help, but still... It took them a week to diagnose chicken pox, which, getting chickenpox as an adult is a HUGE deal... On the wonderful day that I could take my lovie home, I told one of his doctors the initial doctor's diagnoses and about the prescribed meds... he turned white, looked almost terrified, and said "well, I'm glad you guys came here, because that could have killed you."

3 years ago we could have died... I'm going to celebrate life today, celebrate the fact that I am alive, and so is the one I love. IRL I'm wearing my favourite dress and looking super cute, I'll be cooking a special dinner later, and spending time in SL doing some fun stuff (and spending more money than I probably should!). I plan on doing a post this week on a couple of my favourite things in SL, some hunts, and anything else fun that I think of to do today! 

Thanks for putting up with my TL;DR abnormal post. I hope that; whoever you are, and wherever you are, that you are well, and that you will take today to celebrate the fact that you're alive, and that you have come so far, and overcome so much in life. If you're going through some tough stuff right now, know that you are not alone. I know you can do it, look how far you've come already.
