The Skyclad Fashionista

Eclectic fashion from all over the grid!

So, it's almost that time of year again... what? no, not christmas.... no... not halloween.... TWISTED HUNT! The twisted hunt is almost upon us once again, and I am waiting with baited breath. The hunt begins on the very first day of September and continues its perils throughout the entire month.

Don't know anything about the hunt but want to do it anyway? Well buck up, sweetheart, because this is, without one singe doubt, the hardest hunt on the grid, and it's one that is certain to cause tears, shivers, flashbacks, loss of hair... and those little spinning boxes will surely haunt your nightmares for the entire month. The theme this time around is "Time warp" (n...no.... not that one...) which means that ANY and ALL past twisted hunt colours, palettes, and themes are fair game... time is only an illusion, after all.

Scared? Good. You should be. You can find more information, warnings (yes, warnings. no, I am not kidding.) a list of merchants, and more right [HERE].

I have been granted one designer's gift a bit early, and I have been bubbling with excitement to show it off. Songbird, stop #20 on this twisted hunt, has 2 gifts for your hunting pleasure: The first is the twisted time pendant which features a clock with hands that continually spin. The second, and inspiration for this post and my outfit, is a set of eyes... but not just ordinary eyes... each pair of eyes has a different set of textures from past twisted hunts! I've donned number 3, chartreuse, my favourite colour, and the colour of the third twisted hunt whose theme was "Strangebrew" to celebrate this time warp.

Adding to the "strange" is the Laveau necklace from Cubic cherry kre-ations, which is their item for the Voodoo themed round of the Fantasy collective! This pendant is named after Marie Laveau, a renowned practitioner of voodoo in Louisiana. It features a grammaton tetra and is a fantastic shade of chartreuse.

and topping off my twisted look is my dress from Violet Vixen. This strapless dress comes in a wide array of colours (Solar is shown in this post) and each dress is touch texture change with 7 different options to choose from, but also includes a download link for a .PSD so you can make your own as well! If you have a Kemono and would like to try it out, there is a free "wearable demo" version that can be found on the marketplace [HERE], as well as in their main shop!

Finally, I'm using the "Sin" pose pack by Ploom, which they have out right now at District 5. All 6 of these poses are sexy, sultry, seductive, and are just perfect for giving into temptation

I have claimed the "Twisted survivor" title and tag in every single hunt to date, and I plan to add yet another spinning box of unholy evil to my wall of trophies... will you join me among the victorious, or will you succumb to the evils of the twisted hunt and become the next victim of the endgame? See you at the finish.... if you make it.

Olive you, and you and you and you....

hee hee hee! Seriously though, the owner of Olive, Naminaeko, received a seriously distressing notice; her RL home could go into foreclosure... They are going to court to fight this, but the cost of such a thing is astronomical. SL designers, being the amazing, supportive group they are, have banded together for an event called Olive you, to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. You can find more information, as well as a full list of designers [HERE]

I was only able to grab a couple of things while at the event, but Lumae's Eliana skin is one thing I just could NOT leave without. Eliana comes in all of Lumae's standard tones and features the to-die-for rainbow eyeshadow/cat liner combo and a soft pink glossy lip. While I was out and about, I did a bit of event-hopping, as well as stopped at Cute Poison to grab their latest group gift! The starlust piercing comes in 2 pieces (the upper face and the septum) and has a HUD to change the gem. The group is free to join, which sounds like a great price for free piercings ;)

while at Olive you, I also grabbed this super cute dress from Boom. I can never resist cute fish-related items! After my brief excursion to Olive you, I stopped by the Isle of myrth and grabbed the pose set you see me using in all of my photos this post! The butterfly jar pose set from Rook poses is one of 4 exclusive pose sets for the Seelie court. I absolutely love how the butterflies glisten and sparkle in my hands. I accessorized my cute lil dress with the cutest lipstick necklace from Goth1c0 in a pastel teal that matched my outfit oh so well. These can be found in one of their numerous gachas, and each play is $L50, so watch your lindens because you could definitely spend them all trying to pull that perfect shade!

I also just could not pass up the brand-spanking-new urban elf ears from Southpaw while I was at the Seelie court. These are really great, easy to match to your skin via a HUD, and have gauges that are changeable via addon HUDs. You can only see a peek of the tips of my ears in this post, but you'll be seeing more of them soon, trust me! Finally, I climbed through the wardrobe at Seraphim's final round of seraphim social for this year. The theme this round is "The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe" which is a fantastic novel by C.S. Lewis. Keeping in theme, The wicked peach has out the set of nail appliers I have on, as well as some fantastic makeup.

The appliers come in the 6 colour variations you see above, all in one HUD, and the pack includes both fingernail AND toenail appliers for your slink meshy bits.

So, the other day I got a notification that I was being removed from one of the (extremely few) feeds I'm on because I haven't posted on my blog in 45 days, and I said to myself "No way... that can't be right..." but sure enough, I haven't posted on my little amazing blog that started me on my way to SL fame (HA! Kidding) in a MONTH AND A HALF! OH THE HUMANITY! No really though, I hate that I'm neglecting my blog, it's like leaving your friend at the store... but I've been exceedingly busy with my RL, which apparently I have one of these days, and with my Fabfree blogging! (Find my author page, and my ever-growing number of posts [HERE]!)

As far as RL goes, it doesn't look like anything's calming down anytime soon... In the past few months, Fluffy and I have been camping at the beach (not nearly as expensive as it sounds!) nearly every weekend, or doing something else fun, and he got a new job....... and then got fired from said job on some seriously horrid false pretenses... but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise when he got a call from an even better job that he'll actually like...with BENEFITS! He starts this week, so the next few months are going to be filled with more away weekends, adjusting to a completely topsy-turvey new schedule, saving up for our own place (Hopefully? Please? Finally? Maybe?) and getting a car that's maybe a bit less of a P.O.S. than the one we have...

TL;DR: Life's been busy, shit's going on, blawging like a baws on Fabfree

Anyway, enough about me, you don't come here to read about MY life, you come here for the FASHION! Glamistry, a brand new shoe store, has up this fantabulous little sign that made me squee with joy. What does the sign say?

aw yeah, you read that correctly. In each of their shoe releases that contains a white version of the shoe, the white version will always be free... FREE SHOES!

Glamistry's first release is this absolutely fantastic pair of strappy stilettos, and, of course, the white version is 100% free! Included in the pack is a HUD which can be used to change the metals on the shoe, and looks like it is the base for the other colours, which means that, like the shoes from GOS, you can change between any of the HUDS you already own from the one you're wearing. You also have the option to change bits and pieces of the shoes independently, which is super exciting!. I can't wait to see their next release!

Style Card:

Skin: Lumae - Eliana - 3 - latte/01 - $L100 per play/Greek isles gacha event item
Shoes: - Glamistry - Hyacinth - White - $L0/FREE
